It was cause for celebration! Coming off of an award-winning year, the Northwest Florida Coast Chapter of Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) gathered to celebrate their success on August 19th. The Bowery 30A in Redfish Village, Blue Mountain Beach provided the perfect setting for the exciting evening. Members of the FPRA and guests joined to commend the 2014-2015 year and toast the 2015-2016 Board of Directors. Attendees entered the room lit up with glistening chandeliers and enjoyed networking, delicious appetizers and sipping cocktails.
The Northwest Florida Coast Chapter used to be called “small but mighty” but with 30 new members over the past year, this chapter is quickly growing and flourishing! During the installation, there were a few special awards given out. Two members who have gone above and beyond were recognized as the Members of the Year, Erin Igram and Megan Harrison. The outgoing President, Andi Mahoney, APR was the MC for the evening and announced Jami Ray and Whitney Ladwig as the recipients of the prestigious President’s Awards. Each year one individual is recognized as the Person of the Year. This person does not need to be an FPRA member, but is someone who has made significant contributions to the community through outstanding public relations efforts. This year’s deserving recipient was Julie Hurst, Chief Executive Officer of the Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center.
Each member of the Board of Directors generously donates their time, expertise and talents to the chapter. The Northwest Florida Coast Chapter was excited to induct Whitney Lee Ladwig as the 2015-2016 President and eagerly anticipates all to come for the upcoming year. As the “champagne chapter,” what better way to celebrate then with a toast of bubbly!
