Easy on 30A
Watercolor Homeowners 4th Annual Benefit Concert
Story & Photography by Stephanie Price
The 4th annual benefit concert, Easy on 30A, was hosted by the Watercolor Homeowners Association at Marina Park. Performers for the evening included local favorites Forrest Williams Band, The Rips and Geoff McBride. Proceeds from the event were donated to Alaqua Animal Refuge, the Lighthouse Family Retreat, and the Muscogee Nation of Florida.
Admission to the concert was one can of non-perishable food, which guests dropped off at donation points as they entered Marina Park. A silent auction was held with items donated by local merchants. Guests could make a cash donation to any one or all three of the local charities. Easy on 30A was founded four years ago by locals Beth & Randy Carroll with an idea of bringing musicians together to highlight the great talent along 30A and to bring community awareness to charities in the area.
Watercolor Homeowners Association allows the use of Marina Park for this family-friendly event each year during one of the busiest weeks of the summer. This free concert was fun for the entire family as kids were playing games and enjoying face painting, while everyone was enjoying picnics and live music. It was a beautiful evening where the Watercolor Community and Watercolor Resort recognized the need and again for the fourth year in a row hosted this fun charity event for the public to enjoy and gain an awareness of our neighbors in need. The event was well attended and considered successful and according to organizers continues to grow each year.
