On August 6, the Destin High School Shark Shop opened its doors, welcoming visitors, supporters, students, and staff into a storefront filled with Shark pride. With cold drinks, free acai bowls from Bowled, and a drawing, guests filled the shop and school halls to celebrate the ribbon-cutting and relaunch.
“The relaunch of the Destin High School Shark Shop marks the realization of a vision that has been nearly three years in the making. What began as a simple concept has grown into a true storefront that gives our students, families, alumni, and community a place to celebrate Shark pride year-round,” said Donald “Willy” Williams, Executive Director, Destin High School. “This isn’t just a school store; it’s another way we’re building school culture, strengthening community connections, and creating opportunities that directly benefit our students. I’m especially grateful to our Shark Shop Director, Julie White, whose countless volunteer hours, creativity, and dedication have transformed this vision into reality. We invite everyone to stop by, show their Shark pride, and be part of this exciting new relaunch for Destin High School.”
White volunteers her time to operate the Shark Shop, offering everything from jewelry to T-shirts, letter jackets, and stickers. Revenue from purchases helps support school programs and enhance the student experience.
With its doors now open, the Shark Shop gives the Destin High community another place to celebrate its school, support its students, and show its Shark pride.
