When you live at the beach, the sun can take a toll on your skin. Put your skincare needs in the hands of the professionals and turn to Dermatology Specialists of Florida! Originally founded by Jon Ward, MD, what began with one location in Panama City, has grown to employ 20 medical providers (10 physicians and 10 Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners) in 21 communities throughout the Southeast; employing a support staff of over 200 people!
Michael Stickler, MD is the Vice President of the practice and is a Mohs micrographic surgeon and Board-Certified Dermatologist (ABMS-American Board of Medical Specialties). Dr. Stickler values the importance of staying current in the industry and maintaining the highest standards, recently earning renewed Board-Certification status.
Dr. Stickler has a staff of knowledgeable and talented individuals and in Santa Rosa Beach, DeFuniak Springs, Panama City Beach and Panama City, he is supported by two nationally certified Physician Assistants, Kristi Wells, PA-C, and Heather Priesser, PA-C.
Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer, but if detected early, there is an opportunity for effective treatment and removal. Dr. Stickler deeply cares about this cause, “With the exponential growth rate of skin cancer in adults of all ages, providing access to excellent specialty care has been our reason for growth. Our goal is to take that care to areas that are underserved. Our pledge is to see patients as quickly as possible.” This well-rounded practice provides it all; delivering comprehensive dermatology services, using multiple modalities of treatment for diseases of the skin, hair, and nails. Services encompass advanced Medical, Surgical, and Cosmetic Dermatological procedures, treatments and technologies. In addition to cosmetic dermatology services, they provide a full menu of aesthetician-delivered spa services via their luxurious Aqua Medical Spas in 10 cities.
The business has grown leaps and bounds over the past few years and recently has undergone some exciting changes. Dr. Stickler explained, “Our name change from Gulf Coast Dermatology to Dermatology Specialists of Florida was overdue, as the name ‘Gulf Coast’ no longer describes many of our geographical locations. Over the past few years, our expansion has led us to other regions of Florida like Jacksonville, Ponte Vedra Beach, and Tallahassee, as well as other states. In Dothan, Enterprise, Auburn and Huntsville, Alabama, we are known as Dermatology Specialists of Alabama, and in Biloxi, MS, we are Biloxi Dermatology Solutions.”
