In honor of Destin matriarch Mattie May Kelly, the Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation (MKAF) was founded to make the cultural arts accessible throughout Northwest Florida. Through concerts, festivals, and educational programming at the Mattie Kelly Cultural Arts Village, the organization continues to cultivate a lasting appreciation for the arts across the Emerald Coast.
On May 21 the Dugas Pavilion transformed into a glittering, high-energy tribute to disco as the 10-piece Boogie Wonder Band performed an energetic lineup of iconic dance-floor classics during MKAF’s 30th anniversary Concerts in the Village season. Dressed in sequins, bell bottoms, and disco-era glam, guests enjoyed food trucks beneath a warm spring sky while infectious rhythms kept the pavilion moving well into the evening.
“We appreciate everyone coming out to the 30th Annual Concerts in the Village,” said Demetrius Fuller, Chief Executive Officer. “What a wonderful way to celebrate spring, connect with one another, and support the arts—and with lively entertainers like the Boogie Wonder Band it’s all you need for a great time!”
Benefiting ArtsReach, the foundation’s community education initiative supporting students, veterans, service members, and individuals with disabilities, Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation has reached more than 420,000 people through dynamic performances and visual arts experiences.
