Summer has come to an end, and that signifies a change for those of us who know this area as home. This wonderful little bit of paradise returns to a much slower pace and with just a nip of fall in the air beach activities wind down and Festivals and Art Walks become the thing to do.
Folks were in for a real treat at the Baytowne Art Walk, which was held at the Village Of Baytowne Wharf on September 4-6 from 5p.m.- 10p.m. Art lovers had the opportunity to stroll the cocina streets of Baytowne offering an evening venue which was simply magical. An eclectic gathering of art from local artists was beautifully displayed under lighted tents. Visitors also enjoyed live music on the plaza stage. Night shows are challenging, but organizers did a fabulous job of creating a very elegant evening under a blanket of stars.
The show was not juried. It was intended to be more of a fun gathering for the artists with an opportunity to achieve a large amount of exposure with the three-day event. Although not juried, the quality and creativity along the walk were amazing. Artists visited with guests as they meandered through the tents and explained their art, and how and why they produced what they did. Everyone who visited enjoyed the evening and went home with a new appreciation for all types of art, and an art work home with them.
The three-day event was a huge success. Sponsors o the festival were Abrakadoodle of Northwest Florida and the Cultural Arts Association.
