Under a glowing Emerald Coast sky, Aletha’s Legacy gathered its closest supporters on April 15, for the Seventh Annual Sunset Fundraiser at the Farrow Contracting Building, an evening where community and compassion took center stage. While the organization participates in events throughout the year, from fashion shows to sip and shops, this signature fundraiser remains its most impactful. Guests enjoyed an evening of fellowship, project updates, and a shared commitment to changing lives.
“Our goal in 2026 is to raise $200,000 and the Sunset Fundraiser usually raises 85% of our annual budget,” said Kalah Hathcock, Director of Marketing and Events, Aletha’s Legacy. “This will allow us to continue caring for the 53 children in the orphanage and purchase a new, much larger facility to move the children to – plus add another 30 orphans. The new building will be within walking distance to the K-12 school we completed in 2025. It is important for our kids to be able to attend the school that we built, which has been rated the #1 school in the state. Educating this part of the world is the only way to create change in their communities and break the cycles of poverty and violence.”
Founded to help restore communities impacted by war, Aletha’s Legacy provides a safe, nurturing environment where children can learn, grow, and build brighter futures. Through continued community support, the organization is shaping lasting change for generations to come. To learn more, visit alethaslegacy.org.
