Harbor Docks welcomed anglers to participate in the annual Harbor Docks Summer Open King Mackerel Tournament. On August 27, 2015 at 6pm a Kickoff Party was held downstairs at Harbor Docks where each team not only registered for the event, but also enjoyed dinner and drinks out on the back deck.

The tournament was a boat tournament and was open to boats of all sizes and anglers of all skill levels. Registered teams competed to win tournament cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th place, Big Three prizes, Junior & Ladies Prize Packages, as well as optional cash awards for the Largest King Mackerel. This year the cash payout prize for the largest king mackerel was a guaranteed $5000. Event organizer Eddie Morgan expressed his excitement over the tournament and was confident that because of the local boundaries in a fishable area all teams would enjoy a fair chance.

The tournament was held on the August 29th & 30th with boats checking out at the East Pass between 6-7am to fish within the boundaries. Weigh-ins were held each day from 4-6pm, with an awards ceremony held Sunday at 7pm on the dock behind Harbor Docks, with the big the top money winner being “Phoenix” for a total of $10,522.50.  Awards for king mackerel 1st place went to” Loose Hook’r” angler, Andy Hollister with 48.45lbs. The “Phoenix” angler Kelsie Jacobs took 2nd place with 38.55lbs.  This year 3rd place went to angler Amy Wright from the “Papi with 35.60lbs, followed by 4th place angler Mike Wright on the “Sea Fix” with 34.55lbs and 5th place was given to Mike McClung from “Come Fly With Me” for 33.0lbs.
